IV Drip London: The Cost And What To Expect
The London Clinic of Nutrition is the first clinic of its kind in the UK, offering a full holistic experience. We pride ourselves as the biggest functional medicine practice in the world and we are renowned for treating the untreatable. Over the last 10 years we have managed to turn many of our patients’ lives around by successfully treating complex chronic illnesses such as Lyme disease and Fibromyalgia.
As part of our integrative services, we offer a range of conventional and bespoke IV therapies. to revitalise our clients’ health and help them reverse chronic disease.
The idea of using intravenous vitamins and minerals was developed by John Myer, a pioneer physician from Baltimore. The classic Myers cocktail which combines magnesium, calcium, Vitamin C and various B vitamins, is one of the most popular IV therapies and is how we came to develop our bespoke formula’s such as our Immune Booster and more.
What is intravenous nutrient therapy?
Intravenous nutrient therapy, or IV therapy, was meant to have been started by John Myers a Physician from Baltimore who pioneered the use of administering vitamins and minerals intravenously as part of the overall treatment of various medical conditions.
How does intravenous nutrient therapy work?
IV therapy works by allowing your body to absorb 100% of the vitamins, as opposed to only 10% with oral supplements and can leave you feeling great for weeks.
The rationale for IV administration of nutrients is that it can achieve serum concentrations that are not obtainable with oral or intramuscular administration. This is because of the more rapid entry of the nutrients to the bloodstream.
What are the benefits of intravenous nutrient therapy?
Almost anyone can benefit from intravenous nutrient therapy; whether you are dealing with the stress and strains of modern day life, feeling run down and tired, looking to boost sports performance and recovery, as part of a dietary programme to aid weight loss or to aid detoxification protocols, the rewards are endless.
Many relatively healthy patients will also choose to come in for periodic infusions because they noticed it enhanced their overall wellbeing for periods of a week or several months.

What types of intravenous infusions available?
Based on the research done by the renowned John Myers and many more people since then, we offer a wide range of nutritional IVs at the London Clinic of Nutrition to enhance patients’ health, reduce symptoms and help reverse chronic disease.
Among the many infusions we offer is our developed formulas based on the classic Myers cocktail which has been used to treat patients for over 30 years. Similar to the original Myers but with increased nutrient levels we have our bespoke immune boosting and sports performance formulas which are very popular. Our Vitamin C and glutathione IVs are extremely effective at improving detoxification, particularly when there is heavy metal toxicity, oxidative stress and reducing pathogen loads.
We can also blend bespoke IV’s for patients as and when required.
What to expect when having my intravenous infusion?
A nutrient IV is a low risk procedure that many of our clients find is a relaxing and enjoyable experience here at the London Clinic of Nutrition.
You will be shown to our IV lounge where you can relax on one of our recliners with complimentary refreshments and a selection of books and magazines to enjoy whilst one of our experienced practitioners administers a natural mix of nutrients directly to your bloodstream for around 45 minutes.
How long does IV therapy last?
Once your IV nutrient mixture is carefully selected and formulated by your practitioner and you are relaxing in our IV lounge, our fully qualified and experienced nurse practitioner will administer the Intravenous treatment.
The therapy lasts for around 45 minutes and you’ll feel an immediate boost. Typically, the effects become fully noticeable after 12 – 24 hours and they last for anything between 8 days to 3 weeks depending on your health and the IV nutrient mixture.
How often should you get IV therapy?
Intravenous nutrient therapy can be given as a one-off treatment to give you a nutrient boost. In our clinic, our practitioners often find that some patients might need more frequent and customised treatments for a specific condition, while a healthy person may only require IV therapy once a month.
The frequency will depend on your overall health, the condition we are treating you for and your practitioner’s carefully managed protocol.
How much does an intravenous infusion cost?
Almost anyone can benefit from IV therapy; whether you are dealing with the stress and strains of modern-day life, feeling run down and tired, looking to improve sports performance and recovery, to aid weight loss, to assist detoxification protocols or to support your overall health, the rewards are endless. Iv nutrient therapy has become increasingly popular and more accessible in recent years and is no longer only associated with celebs and jet setting execs. According to a recent Wise Guys Report the demand for Intravenous nutrient therapy is set to rise by 30% in the next 3 years.
Vitamin infusions may contain single vitamins such as Vitamin C or Vitamin B12 or a cocktail of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino acids. Our Vitamin C Iv therapy is one of the most popular and most effective single infusions.
The pricing of IV nutrient therapy vary between £50-£235 per single session depending on the type of the nutrient mixture. The majority of our Iv treatments are also available as a bundle of 5 and 10 sessions. Please get in touch for our full price list.
How much does IV vitamin C therapy cost?
The main benefit of getting vitamin C through IV therapy is that it bypasses the gastrointestinal route. Taking high levels of Vitamin C orally can be challenging as you reach bowel tolerance quite quickly which can lead to unpleasant side effects ie diarrhoea. With IV therapy you can achieve high blood concentration safely, without any side effects (1).
Vitamin C is involved in countless cellular pathways within our body: it’s an antioxidant, an antihistamine (2), it has anti-inflammatory properties (3) and it’s even involved in DNA formation (4). As a result, Vitamin C is included in most of our infusions, but also available as a standalone therapy. Please get in touch for prices.
How much does IV hydration therapy cost?
Ensuring that you drink plenty of water and include all the essential electrolytes for proper hydration is crucial for concentration and mental clarity (5), optimum sport performance (6), healthy bowel and kidney function (7), maintaining a healthy weight (8) and prevention of headaches, not to mention hangovers!
At our clinic we have many carefully formulated IV formulas that will help you replenish your electrolytes and leave you feeling refreshed and energised. The immune boosting and sports performance IV infusions are the most popular.
Is IV therapy covered by insurance?
Our clinic doesn’t work directly with health insurance providers at the moment. If you would like to explore if IV therapies are covered by your health insurance, you will need to check your policy or contact your provider directly.
