What types of IV drips and booster shots are available?
Vitamin Drips and Booster Shots are a unique way to support your health and wellbeing. Nutrients are delivered directly into the blood stream intravenously (IV) via a Drip or directly into the muscle via an Intramuscular (IM) injection. Based on the research done by the renowned John Myers, we offer a wide range of IV drips at our central London clinic, designed to enhance clients health and reduce symptoms from illness.

What is IV nutrient therapy?
Intravenous nutrient therapy, or IV therapy, was started by John Myers a Physician from Baltimore who pioneered the use of administering vitamins and minerals intravenously as part of the overall treatment of various medical conditions. IV drip therapy offers a way to get a range of nutrients intravenously, in the relaxing surroundings of our London Clinic. IV nutrition therapy is a rising trend as many people respond better to IV nutrition when compared with oral supplements. When you receive nutrients through an IV drip, it delivers the nutrients directly into the bloodstream bypassing obstacles to absorption like the digestive system.
How does IV nutrient therapy work?
IV therapy works by allowing your body to absorb 100% of the vitamins, as opposed to only 10% with oral supplements and can leave you feeling refreshed.
The rationale for IV administration of nutrients is that it can achieve serum concentrations that are not obtainable with oral or intramuscular administration. This is because of the more rapid entry of the nutrients to the bloodstream.
What to expect when having my IV drip?
A nutrient IV drip is a low risk procedure that many of our clients find is a relaxing and enjoyable experience here at the London Clinic of Nutrition.
You will be shown to our IV lounge where you can relax on one of our recliners with complimentary refreshments and a selection of books and magazines to enjoy whilst one of our experienced practitioners administers a natural mix of nutrients directly to your bloodstream for around 60-90 minutes.
How long does an IV therapy drip take?
Once your IV nutrient mixture is carefully selected and formulated by your practitioner and you are relaxing in our IV lounge, our fully qualified and experienced nurse practitioner will administer the IV drip.
The therapy lasts for around 60-90 minutes and you’ll feel an immediate boost. Typically, the effects become fully noticeable after 12 – 24 hours and they last for anything between 8 days to 2 weeks depending on your health and the IV nutrient mixture.
How often should you get an IV drip?
Intravenous nutrient therapy (IV drips) can be given as a one-off treatment to give you a nutrient boost. In our clinic, our practitioners often find that some clients might need more frequent and customised treatments for a specific condition, while a healthy person may only require IV therapy once a month.
How much does an IV drip cost?
Almost anyone can benefit from IV therapy; whether you are dealing with the stress and strains of modern-day life, feeling run down and tired, looking to improve sports performance and recovery, to assist detoxification protocols or to support your overall health. Iv nutrient therapy has become increasingly popular and more accessible in recent years and is no longer only associated with celebs and jet setting execs.
Vitamin infusions may contain single vitamins such as Vitamin C or Vitamin B12 or a cocktail of vitamins, minerals, antioxidants and amino acids. Our immune booster therapy is one of the most popular and most effective single infusions.
The pricing of IV nutrient therapy vary between £165-£350 per single session depending on the type of the nutrient mixture. The majority of our Iv drips are also available as a bundle of 5 and 10 sessions.
Benefits of a vitamin C IV drip?
The main benefit of getting vitamin C through IV drip therapy is that it bypasses the gastrointestinal route. Taking high levels of Vitamin C orally can be challenging as you reach bowel tolerance quite quickly which can lead to unpleasant side effects ie diarrhoea. With IV therapy you can achieve high blood concentration safely, without any side effects (1).
Vitamin C is involved in countless cellular pathways within our body: it’s an antioxidant, an antihistamine (2), it has anti-inflammatory properties (3) and it’s even involved in DNA formation (4). As a result, Vitamin C is included in most of our infusions, but also available as a standalone therapy.
Is IV drip therapy covered by insurance?
Our clinic doesn’t work directly with health insurance providers at the moment. If you would like to explore if IV therapies are covered by your health insurance, you will need to check your policy or contact your provider directly.
