Virginia is a registered nutritional therapist and registered nutritionist. She graduated from BCNH in 2008 and went on to complete an MSc in Nutritional Medicine at the University of Surrey in 2018, graduating with distinction. She is registered with both the British Association for Nutritional Therapists (BANT) and the Complementary and Natural Healthcare council (CNHC). She has also studied with the Institute of Functional Medicine, completing AFMCP and the advanced practice module in gut health.
Since 2008, she has been running a private nutrition practice, working in the community and lecturing on MSc and BSc nutrition qualifications. Her approach in clinic is to work with the patient, who is the expert in their own health, to achieve maximum benefit.
Virginia first became interested in health when she didn’t have it anymore. In her mid twenties, she suffered from a debilitating mystery illness and spent 3 years in bed. Changing her diet reduced many of the symptoms and many years later she was diagnosed with Hashimoto’s and continues to support her health with food and lifestyle interventions.
Areas of special interest are children’s health, digestive disorders (IBD/ IBS), depression/ anxiety, menopause and autoimmune conditions – particularly psoriasis/ psoriatic arthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, alopecia and autoimmune thyroid.
