Helen Olphin

Helen Olphin is a fully qualified Nutritional therapist and Coach who has a passion for supporting individuals with chronic health conditions particularly Chronic fatigue, ME/CFS, chronic exhaustion, stress, autoimmune conditions, Arthritis, Gut Dysfunction, Lyme and Autism. She started her career in Physiotherapy working here and abroad at the world famous Groote Schuur Hospital with a special interest in Trauma, Intensive care and Surgery and became an international speaker on the treatment of “Blunt Chest Trauma”

In returning to the UK she moved into a Senior Management role in a teaching hospital in Birmingham and with an A&E consultant developed a ground breaking minor injuries unit. During her management years she completed an MSc course in Organisation Development and Coaching and was involved in supporting hospitals to obtain “Trust” Status.

She then wanted to develop her leadership development work setting up her own business focusing on work in the corporate sector on individual, team and organisational development which she did successfully for 15 years in banking, technology, London Councils, football clubs, the health and film industry.

Following her own health challenges and those of her children, she developed an interest in Nutritional Therapy and in 2013 qualified as a Nutritional Therapist from the Institute for Optimum Nutrition winning the award for “Outstanding Clinical Practice”. She completed the prestigious Functional Medicine Course in London in 2015 which applies systems thinking to health problems and uses “root cause” as a way to understand biochemical and physiological imbalances that occur in the body. She continues her education and learning by attending many courses tapping into the expertise and experience in the National and International Medical and Nutritional arena.

My session with Oliver Barnett was very interesting and informative and he told me how to build on my existing healthy diet, broadening what I ate and how I prepared it, and prescribed a course of herbs and a detox.
