For Fertility and Pre-Conception Care you can improve fertility through detoxification, of heavy metals, hormones and other unwanted waste products. It is a healthy egg and and healthy sperm that makes a healthy baby and thus the health of the partners needs to be optimised to achieve this.
Fertility and Pre-Conception Care – improve fertility through healthy eating
A quarter of all couples planning a baby have trouble conceiving. In four out of every ten cases the problems are on the male side with thirty percent of men being sub-fertile, while two percent are totally infertile. A low sperm count can be due to poor diet, nutrient deficiencies and/or environmental toxins such as lead, mercury and cadmium. Food additives, smoking, alcohol, food intolerances, urinary tract infections plus stress all affect fertility.
Female infertility may be due to blockages in the fallopian tubes which can be triggered by an infection such as thrush or cystitis or by chlamydia and other sexually transmitted diseases. Sometimes there is a problem with ovulation usually due to a hormone imbalance. Other conditions, such as endometriosis, low thyroid function, a diet deficient in nutrients, especially zinc and magnesium, and/or environmental toxins are also common causes of infertility in women. At The London Clinic of Nutrition, we welcome couples to address the aforementioned possibilities and also look at each individual case’s unique circumstances then agree on a suitable treatment route that will look at detoxification, diet, lifestyle and any supplementation and herbs that are needed.
